On the 14th, when the motion to impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol was passed, an audio recording was released revealing that pro-Yoon Suk-yeol (Pro-Yoon) faction lawmakers threw water bottles and verbally abused former party leader Han Dong-hoon, who urged support for the impeachment, during a People Power Party (PPP) caucus meeting. In response, Lee Jun-seok, a reformist party lawmaker, expressed that it seemed Han had suffered even harsher treatment than himself.
On the 20th, Lee posted on his social media, "An audio recording of the PPP's closed-door caucus meeting held immediately after the motion to impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol was passed has been released," adding, "Even in the impeachment phase where the president’s power has waned due to clear presidential culpability, the perception of Representative Han Dong-hoon among the party’s lawmakers is very harsh."
Lee said, "With the release of the closed-door caucus recording, it seems that the PPP will no longer be able to hold caucus meetings freely and will be in a state of internal strife." He continued, "Back in 2022, when they tried to oust me, it was early in the president’s term and the president’s authority was strong, but there were senior lawmakers who spoke kindly to me during the caucus. After hearing about the humiliation Han suffered, I am once again grateful to those who spoke kindly to me."

According to the closed-door caucus recording of the PPP released by JTBC on the 19th, the Pro-Yoon faction launched a fierce attack, accusing former leader Han of violating the party’s stance to reject the impeachment motion. Pro-Yoon lawmaker A reportedly said, "I think it is impossible and inappropriate for Representative Han Dong-hoon to continue serving as party leader. Who is responsible for the impeachment?" When Han responded, "I am not the one who declared martial law," loud voices erupted among the lawmakers, and one lawmaker, in anger, threw a water bottle at Han.
Pro-Yoon lawmaker B said, "Those responsible are the leadership," and Pro-Yoon lawmaker C pressured, "Should we pass a resolution urging the party leader to resign?" In response, pro-Han Dong-hoon (Pro-Han) faction lawmaker D strongly opposed, saying, "Should we all gather now and show the public that we are taking out our frustrations on the party leader until the end?" After Han expressed his intention not to resign, lawmaker E reportedly uttered a vulgar insult, calling him "crazy." Lawmaker F also said, "Yoon Suk-yeol, who appointed such a guy as Minister of Justice, has stabbed himself in the eye."
