Surprise Gifts for 1,198 Children and People with Disabilities
The Jangheung-gun Community Social Security Council in Jeollanam-do held the Santa Expedition Season 2, 'Santa Shoots Gifts,' on the 19th.
According to the county on the 20th, to celebrate Christmas, they visited elementary schools, local children's centers, and the Gangjin-gun Welfare Center for the Disabled to deliver gifts and touching moments as part of a Christmas event.
The Santa Expedition, consisting of about 100 members from the town and township community social security councils, began with a departure ceremony at the Gangjin-eup Ogamtong outdoor stage. Until the 24th, they visited 10 elementary schools, 3 local children's centers, and the Gangjin-gun Welfare Center for the Disabled, delivering Santa scarves and snack packages as surprise Christmas gifts to 1,198 elementary and kindergarten students and people with disabilities.

This event was organized to deliver joyful and happy Christmas memories and love to rural children and people with disabilities in culturally disadvantaged environments through a surprise event.
The Santa Expedition started their parade from the Ogamtong outdoor stage in Gangjin-eup, passing through Jungang-ro, the terminal, and Jungang Elementary School. Eleven Santa taxis, County Mayor Kang Jinwon, County Council Chairperson Seo Sunseon, and Gangjin Office of Education Superintendent Lee Byungsam also dressed as Santa and marched with the 100-member Santa Expedition, presenting a surprise Christmas event to the residents.
Baek Seonon, the civilian chairperson, said, "Santa Expedition Season 2 is a warm sharing event created together by the public and private sectors. I feel great reward in being able to visit rural children who lack cultural opportunities, deliver gifts, and create happy memories for them."
He added, "The bright smiles of the children are our greatest gift. We will continue to work with the local community to make Gangjin a safe and happy place for children."
Kang Jinwon, the county mayor, stated, "'Santa Expedition Season 2, Santa Shoots Gifts' is a special event designed to share the warm atmosphere of Christmas even in rural areas and to instill dreams and hope in children. Through this event, the children of Gangjin created unforgettable memories, and residents were given joy and inspiration at the end of the year.
