Dongseo University Selected for New K-MOOC Digital+ Program Courses in the Second Half of the Year

Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) announced on the 20th that it has been selected for the new Digital+Program courses in the "2024 Second Half Korean Massive Open Online Course (K-MOOC) Operation Project" competition hosted by the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Lifelong Education.


Korean Massive Open Online Courses (K-MOOC) is a web-based course platform that anyone in the Republic of Korea can take for free. Since 2015, it has provided learning opportunities by sharing excellent courses from universities and research institutions online.


The Digital+Program courses selected for the second half of 2024 are the "Data Visualization for Everyone" program, consisting of three courses: "Graphic Data Visualization" (Professor Kim Kyung-won), "Business Data Visualization" (Professor Kim Hyung-sook), and "Scientific Data Visualization" (Professor Choi Bong-jun).

The "Data Visualization for Everyone" program consists of three courses. The "Graphic Data Visualization" course covers understanding and preprocessing data by type, learning visualization methods and techniques for each chart, and is designed to enable the creation of user-centered dashboards.


The "Business Data Visualization" course teaches the types and characteristics of business data, derives insights through data analysis, and is structured to enable the creation of dashboards and reports.


The "Scientific Data Visualization" course covers understanding data analysis and preprocessing, exploring visualization methods and correlations, and is designed to help select visualization techniques and propose problem-solving approaches.


The newly selected courses will be available for free on the K-MOOC platform starting June 2025.


Since 2018, Dongseo University has been offering various courses starting with individual K-MOOC courses. Currently, five courses are in progress: ▲ Mathematics to Find and Watch (Professor Lee Min-ah), ▲ About Love (Professor Park Hye-young), ▲ Introduction to Korean Arts and Design (Professors Yoon Ji-young and Jang Joo-young), ▲ Stories of Management in Daily Life (Professor Gong Hee-sook), and ▲ Mathematics for Beginners to See with the Eyes (Professor Lee Min-ah).
