From a New Employee's Perspective: A Diary-Style Account of Advertising and Design Evolution from Launch to Present
Binggrae announced on the 20th that it will publish a brand book to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Banana Flavored Milk, the No. 1 processed milk brand in Korea.
The brand book being published this time unfolds the 50-year history of Banana Flavored Milk in the form of a diary from the perspective of a new employee who joined Binggrae and became a marketer for Banana Flavored Milk. It contains fascinating stories that were usually unknown, such as the background of Banana Flavored Milk's creation, behind-the-scenes stories of the development process, and anecdotes from employees related to Banana Flavored Milk. In addition, the process through which Banana Flavored Milk became more than just a product and established itself as an iconic symbol is also detailed, including advertisements and campaigns conducted from the time of its launch to the present, as well as the history of its design changes.
Another feature of the brand book is that it includes stories from consumers who have a special affection for Banana Flavored Milk. Readers can find memories of drinking Banana Flavored Milk at bathhouses, an experience that almost every Korean has had at least once, recipes recommended by consumers to enjoy Banana Flavored Milk in new and diverse ways, and local reactions to Banana Flavored Milk, which is now loved not only in Korea but also overseas. The brand book allows readers to see how Banana Flavored Milk has permeated various aspects of everyday life.
The brand book will be sold in limited quantities at major online and offline bookstores starting today, and all proceeds from the book sales will be donated to activities supporting underprivileged groups.
Meanwhile, to commemorate the publication of the brand book, Binggrae will hold an exhibition at Nudite Ikseon located in Jongno-gu from the 21st to the 28th.
The theme of the exhibition is “Simply, Your and My Story,” designed to evoke joyful memories with Banana Flavored Milk for visitors. Visitors can view the 50-year history of Banana Flavored Milk and the contents of the brand book, create their own keyrings, and take photos at the photo zone, creating new memories.
A Binggrae official said, “Banana Flavored Milk is a brand filled with various memories and stories that span all generations,” adding, “We will strive to ensure that the love we have received for 50 years continues for 100 or 200 years.”
