Lotte Hosts '2024 Diversity Forum' with 1,000 Employees Participating

Emphasizing Inclusive Culture and Leadership

Lotte announced on the 20th that it will hold the ‘2024 Diversity Forum’ at the Lotte Human Resources Development Institute Osan Campus. This year’s theme is ‘Seeping Into Us,’ aiming to share the necessity of spreading and internalizing a culture that embraces diversity for sustainable growth.

Since 2013, Lotte has established the ‘Lotte Group Diversity Charter,’ which formalizes respect for diversity and the elimination of discrimination, applying diversity values across the group’s management. The Diversity Forum is an event that has expanded its scope since 2021 from the existing women-centered ‘WOW Forum (Way of Women)’ to cover four major areas of diversity: gender, generation, physical ability, and culture.

The forum will be attended by Lee Dong-woo, Vice Chairman and CEO of Lotte Holdings; Kim Hee-cheon, Director of the Lotte Human Resources Development Institute; Park Doo-hwan, Head of HR Innovation at Lotte Holdings; and HR executives from affiliated companies. Around 1,000 employees from diverse backgrounds, including female leaders, newly appointed team leaders, juniors, foreigners, and persons with disabilities, will participate both on-site and online.

At the forum, Lotte will share policy directions to expand and embrace diversity within the organization. In addition, expert lectures and panel discussions on the theme of inclusiveness will be held. Dialogues between employees and external experts on the roles of leaders and followers in fostering an inclusive culture will also take place.

Lotte continuously strives to secure diversity within the organization by expanding recruitment of women and persons with disabilities and nurturing foreign employees. This year, it introduced the ‘I’M (I’m) Recruitment Process,’ which hires talent based on job competencies and diverse experiences beyond academic credentials. Furthermore, family-friendly policies were enhanced by expanding the ‘Childcare Leave System’ from children entering elementary school to those currently enrolled. Employee-led organizational culture improvement activities, such as the Organizational Culture TFT and Junior Board, were also encouraged.

Lee Dong-woo, Vice Chairman and CEO of Lotte Holdings, said, “I hope the forum will be an opportunity to share the results of efforts to establish diversity as an organizational culture and to discuss the direction moving forward.” He added, “I expect Lotte Group to use diversity and inclusion as driving forces to overcome change and crises and move toward a greater future.”
