Integration of Existing Volunteer Activities and Services for Underserved Areas
LG Electronics announced on the 20th that it has started the pilot operation of the visiting service “LG Go! Go! Care Service” for socially vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities and the elderly throughout November, and officially launched it this month. The company plans to visit more than 140 related welfare facilities nationwide by May next year.
This service is a social contribution activity that inspects home appliances and prevents electrical safety accidents for welfare facilities vulnerable to extreme cold and heat, as well as customers living in island and mountainous areas. It integrates the existing home appliance inspection volunteer activities and the “Visiting Senior 365 Care Service” for elderly people who find it difficult to visit service centers. This is part of LG Electronics’ ESG vision, “Better Life for All.”

Until February next year, the service will conduct ▲“Stepping Stone Care” visiting welfare facilities for people with disabilities ▲“SantaGo Care” visiting mountainous areas ▲“BaetaGo Care” visiting island regions ▲“ChataGo Care” visiting areas with a high elderly population. Preventive measures include inspecting washing machines prone to freezing and bursting during winter, removing water remaining inside drainage pumps, and wrapping faucets with insulation materials. The service also sterilizes the inside of washing machines with steam and carries out electrical safety accident prevention activities such as replacing old multi-tap power strips and attaching fire patches. From March to May next year, the “Spring Sunshine Care” activity will inspect air conditioners at child welfare facilities. It provides essential summer product inspections such as air conditioner and refrigerator function checks and air conditioner filter cleaning to help ensure a comfortable summer.
LG Electronics is advancing inspection and after-service technologies based on artificial intelligence (AI). Representative examples include the “LG SMART CHECK” application, which diagnoses and controls individual components without disassembling the product, and identifies malfunctioning parts based on past operation history and real-time operation information, as well as “non-destructive testing” that detects refrigerator compressors using only operational data such as voltage and current values.
Jung Yeon-chae, Vice President and Head of Customer Value Innovation Division at LG Electronics, said, “As a member of the local community closest to our customers, we will continue to expand activities that proactively reach out to socially vulnerable groups to provide help and improve their quality of life.”
