Hyundai Department Store has expressed its commitment to continuously expand the ‘Passion Scholarship’ program, a win-win management initiative that has reached its 10th year this year.

According to Hyundai Department Store on the 20th, a Passion Scholarship award ceremony was held the previous day at the Hyundai Department Store headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for the children of employees from partner companies and contractors. About 100 people attended the ceremony, including Hyundai Department Store President Jeong Ji-young, scholarship recipients, and their families.
The Passion Scholarship is a win-win program that provides scholarships to the children of employees from small and medium-sized partner companies and contractors doing business with Hyundai Department Store, and has been steadily conducted since 2014. This year, scholarships were awarded to 133 students. Over the past 11 years, including this year, a total of 1,956 students have received scholarships, with a total amount of 3.3 billion KRW distributed.
Jeong Ji-young, President of Hyundai Department Store, said, "I am very honored to have continuously operated the scholarship support program for 11 years," and added, "We will continue to expand win-win programs that can provide practical help to employees of partner companies working with Hyundai Department Store."
At this year’s ceremony, to commemorate the 10th anniversary, lectures and gift-giving events that families could participate in together were held. Hyundai Department Store plans to strive to prepare various win-win support measures so that more students can benefit in the future.
Choi Yoon-seo, a student who received the academic scholarship, said, "I am honored to be selected as the representative awardee, and I am even happier to participate in the event with my mother," adding, "The scholarship I received this time will be used as an investment in the future, such as registering for a language academy and studying for certification exams."
