Body Moved in Trunk... Found Last Week at Cemetery

A man moving a corpse was captured on Google Street View, helping to solve a missing person case. Street View is a Google map service that allows users to see various streets and places around the world through 360-degree camera images. On the 18th (local time), the British BBC reported, "Photos taken on Google Street View provided important clues during the investigation of a missing person case in northern Spain."

Last October, a man in his 30s of Cuban nationality disappeared in the northern Spanish village of Tahueko. The missing man reportedly sent a text message to his family saying, "I met a woman and will leave Spain and get rid of my phone." The family, suspicious of the message, reported the disappearance to the police. The incident caused fear among the residents of this village, which has a population of only 56.

However, during the investigation, local police captured an image on Google Street View near the area where the incident occurred, showing a man hunched over loading a white sack into the trunk of a red car. Police investigation revealed that the scene actually depicted the moving of the missing man's corpse. The last time Google Street View captured images of this village was in 2009, and the updated photos after 15 years showed the act of moving the corpse.

Last month, police arrested two suspects: a woman known to be the missing man's partner and another man. Additionally, some decomposed remains presumed to be those of the missing man were found last week. The suspects are believed to have buried the dismembered corpse in a cemetery of a nearby village with only 13 residents.

However, it is still unknown whether the two suspects killed the missing man or if there were other accomplices. The police stated, "The photos taken on Street View did not play a decisive role in solving the case," but added, "They were somewhat helpful," and the investigation is ongoing.
