"We Will Devise the Best Measures for Audience Safety"
Singer Lee Seunghwan responded to the conservative group's demand to cancel his concert in Gumi, Gyeongbuk Province, stating, "I will make it the best performance of my life."
On the 19th, Lee Seunghwan shared a photo of a banner installed by conservative groups at the entrance of Gumi City Hall on his Instagram, saying, "It's unfortunate that this is my first Gumi concert in 35 years since my debut." The banner in the photo reads, "Cancel Lee Seunghwan's 'Impeachment Celebration Concert' in Gumi immediately." He commented, "The font on the banner is so scary," and added, "Why do those people have no sense of aesthetics?"
Lee Seunghwan said, "We will do our best to ensure the safety of the audience on the day of the concert," and expressed special thanks to those attending, promising, "I will sing and jump until my whole body breaks." He continued, "I will take out, tighten, clean, and replace the special vocal cords I have been saving, so please come prepared," emphasizing, "I will make it the best performance of my life."
Earlier, Lee Seunghwan, who performed a free concert near the National Assembly in Yeouido ahead of the vote on President Yoon Seok-yeol's second impeachment motion, is scheduled to hold the 'Lee Seunghwan 35th Anniversary Concert - HEAVEN' in Gumi on the 25th. In response, conservative groups held a rally opposing Lee Seunghwan's concert in front of Gumi City Hall. The conservative groups stated in a press release, "In this critical time when the economy and politics are in crisis due to the president's impeachment, Lee Seunghwan, who took the stage supporting impeachment and led national division with political statements, must have his Gumi concert canceled immediately."
Meanwhile, on the 13th, Lee Seunghwan took the stage at a pro-impeachment rally and passionately sang hit songs such as "As Much as Love is Spread in the World," "Do You Love?" and "Dunk Shoot." Notably, he altered the lyrics of "Dunk Shoot" to shout, "Let's chant the spell, step down Yoon Seok-yeol. Step down Yoon Seok-yeol."
