Yangju-si Social Economy Enterprises Hold 'Hyosim Package' Sharing Ceremony

Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 19th that on the 18th, Yangju Social Economy Enterprises and Yangju Volunteer Center (Center Director Lee Jeong-ju) signed a business agreement to promote volunteer activities and ESG management practices, following last year, and held a sharing event to deliver the ‘Hyosim Package’.

The delivery ceremony was attended by representatives and executives of eight social economy enterprises including Vitamin Angels Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Ba-ul), members of the ChunJang club of Korea Food Service Science High School (advisor Lee Sang-gyu), students from the Hangul Project club of Yangju High School (advisor Yoo Jeong-hee), and about 30 related personnel.


The ‘Hyosim Package’ was prepared using donations raised as a follow-up project to ‘Giver Market,’ an offline sales support project for Yangju social economy enterprises, and goods donated by Yangju social economy enterprises. On the 19th, it was delivered to 120 vulnerable households in 12 towns and townships through the Yangju Volunteer Center.


Prior to the delivery ceremony, the Yangju Social Economy Support Center (Center Director Yeom Il-yeol) promoted a business agreement with the Yangju Volunteer Center to encourage volunteer activities and ESG management practices among social economy enterprises.


Through the agreement, the Yangju Volunteer Center and social economy enterprises agreed to establish and faithfully comply with matters related to the activation of the social economy and volunteer activities, and to promote mutual exchanges and related tasks. The two organizations and enterprises plan to carry out collaborative projects for volunteer activities and ESG management practices aimed at forming a local community.


The companies that signed the business agreement with the Yangju Volunteer Center include ▲Vitamin Angels Co., Ltd. ▲Nagune Multicultural Center Co., Ltd. (CEO Heo Jae-man) ▲Seum Corporation (CEO Lee Eun-sook) ▲Duson Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Hye-seok) ▲Art Develop Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Yoo-jin) ▲Yangju Merchants Cooperative Association (Chairman Yoon Sung-hee), totaling six companies.


A representative of one of the participating companies said, “Through Giver Market, a direct transaction market for social economy, not only was social economy promoted and sales made, but it also led to an opportunity to practice sharing in the community, which makes it even more meaningful.”


A school official said, “Giver Market and this event provided students with an opportunity to experience what they learned inside the classroom in real life,” and added, “We hope there will be more education programs that work together with the local community.”


Jo Myeong-hee, head of the Job and Economy Division of Yangju City, said, “During these difficult times, I am especially pleased that the Yangju Social Economy Support Center and Yangju Volunteer Center held a meaningful event again this year for the citizens of Yangju,” and added, “It is very important for social economy enterprises that solve local problems to meet and attempt various collaborations with local welfare institutions and schools.”


‘Giver Market,’ an offline sales support project for Yangju social economy enterprises, is a direct transaction market where the value production of the social economy meets the value consumption of citizens, and it is scheduled to be promoted again in the first and second halves of next year.
