The National Assembly announced on the 19th that it has formed a legal representative team for the impeachment prosecutors following the impeachment prosecution group for President Yoon Seok-yeol.
Choi Ki-sang, a Democratic Party lawmaker who serves as the secretary and spokesperson of the impeachment prosecution group, held a press conference at the communication center on the same day and announced the list of 17 legal representatives for Jeong Cheong-rae, the chairman of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee and an impeachment prosecutor.
The co-representatives include Kim Yi-su, former Acting Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Song Doo-hwan, former Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission, and Lee Kwang-beom, former Chief Judge of the Seoul High Court. Kim Jin-han, former Constitutional Research Officer of the Constitutional Court, will oversee the practical work.
The National Assembly impeachment prosecution group consists of nine members including Jeong Cheong-rae, chairman of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee and impeachment prosecutor, and Democratic Party lawmakers Park Beom-gye, Lee Chun-seok, Lee Seong-yoon, Park Gyun-taek, Kim Gi-pyo, Park Seon-won, and Lee Yong-woo, as well as Park Eun-jung from the Party for National Innovation and Cheon Ha-ram from the Reform Party.
