Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Lee Nam-chul) signed a business agreement on the 18th at the Goryeong-gun Office Gayageum Room to establish the Gyeongbuk Future Life University Goryeong Campus, aiming to provide an environment where Goryeong residents can continuously learn by operating degree programs within the lifelong education system.
The main contents of the agreement include △ fostering human resources to enhance the expertise of Goryeong residents △ providing curricula based on the lifelong education system △ joint use of Goryeong-gun's infrastructure △ recruitment and promotion of students from Daegu Catholic University △ mutual utilization of personnel and human networks △ joint promotion of the Gyeongbuk RISE project, and other matters of mutual cooperation.
The Gyeongbuk Future Life University Goryeong Campus plans to operate a bachelor's degree system for a four-year regular degree program targeting adult learners aged 30 and over, allowing working professionals who have learning burdens to earn credits through online lectures in addition to face-to-face classes.
Kim Chung-bok, Deputy Governor of Goryeong, said, "With this agreement, it seems that an educational venue has been prepared where residents can easily receive high-quality university education," and added, "We will do our best to revitalize lifelong education in the region and nurture talent through generous support for lifelong education."
