Uijeongbu-si Re-certified as a 'Family-Friendly Excellent Institution' by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 19th that it has been certified as a ‘Family-Friendly Excellent Institution’ for the fifth consecutive time by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.

The Family-Friendly Certification System is a system that grants certification to companies and public institutions that exemplary operate family-friendly systems such as support for childbirth and child-rearing, flexible working hours, and the creation of a family-friendly workplace culture, based on Article 15 of the Act on the Promotion of a Family-Friendly Social Environment.

Uijeongbu City, which first obtained the family-friendly certification in 2013, has promoted various family-friendly systems such as operating Family Love Day, implementing the ‘Listening Mayor’s Office Cafe Mujigae’ for communication administration, and holding monthly tea meetings between the mayor and the labor union chairman, receiving certification for five consecutive times. The validity period of this 2024 re-certification is three years, until November 30, 2027.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “We will continue to discover and promote family-friendly systems to achieve work-family balance and create a family-friendly workplace culture. Through this, we aim to improve employee job satisfaction and serve as a model for other companies and institutions as a family-friendly excellent institution.”
