"Free Consulting for Over 500 Social Enterprises" SK Probono Holds Performance Sharing Meeting

SK Group's employee volunteer consulting team, SK Probono, provided free consulting services to over 500 social enterprises this year.

On the 18th, SK Probono held the '2024 Probono Performance Sharing Meeting' at the Seorin Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to share these achievements. Since its launch in 2009, SK Probono has supported the practical growth of the social enterprise ecosystem by offering free consulting to social enterprises and social ventures for 16 years. This performance sharing meeting was organized to share this year’s activity results and to award outstanding Probonos, aiming to expand the Probono ecosystem.

This year, about 2,900 employees from 35 affiliated companies participated as Probonos, providing free consulting to over 500 social enterprises. Notably, the collaboration with the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency, conducted for the first time this year, was a remarkable achievement. Through this collaboration, SK Probono recruited participating companies targeting social enterprises that received excellent or outstanding grades in the Social Value Index (SVI) and companies residing in the Growth Support Center. The selected companies through this collaboration experienced practical management improvements and business expansion opportunities, showing high satisfaction.

Awards were also given to Probonos who led the substantial growth of social enterprises. In the Project Group of the Year category, the SK Hynix Cheongju Fire and Safety Consulting Group, which has consistently provided consulting for social enterprises related to fire and safety in the Cheongju area from 2019 to this year, received the honor. This group was highly evaluated for spreading its industrial fire and safety consulting reference model to other regions such as Ulsan and Daejeon Daedeok. In the individual category, Probonos from SK Broadband were recognized for both quantitative and qualitative achievements, including reviewing proposals and planning apps and websites to help increase social enterprises’ sales.

During the 'Talk Concert' program of the performance sharing meeting, actual Probono consulting cases were shared, and in-depth discussions on activity know-how took place. Three Probonos selected as this year’s Probonos participated as speakers, sharing vivid experiences from the field.

Jidongseop, SV Committee Chairman of the SK SUPEX Council, who attended the performance sharing meeting, said, "Among various Probono programs operated by companies, SK Probono is likely the only one supporting social enterprises and social ventures." He added, "SK will implement not only Probono but also various support programs for social enterprises and social ventures to solve complex social problems."
