Church displaying banner "Please enforce strict second martial law" reported for treason

Citizen Group Files Complaint Against Jeon Gwang-hoon Associate for 'Martial Law Advocacy'
"Defending Instigators of Insurrection... Will Monitor"

An associate of Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon of Sarang Jeil Church, who supported President Yoon Suk-yeol's declaration of martial law and made remarks suggesting "a second martial law is necessary," has been reported on charges of inciting rebellion.

On the 18th, the civic group Peace Tree Christian Restoration Center (Director Kim Dimode) held a press conference in front of the Seoul Seodaemun Police Agency headquarters, announcing that "an associate of Jeon Gwang-hoon, Mr. A, has been reported on charges of inciting and propagandizing rebellion." According to them, Mr. A said during a talk show held after a worship service on the 8th, "In my view, even if there is a second or third martial law, anti-state forces must be completely eradicated from this country." Additionally, a church in the Gyeongbuk region displayed a banner stating, 'Election fraud is the real crime of rebellion! Dissolve the Democratic Party that overuses impeachment! Election Commission, confess! President Yoon is the best! Please have a fiery second martial law.'

The center pointed out, "These remarks and the banner content violate Article 90, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Act, which states, 'Anyone who incites or propagandizes rebellion shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than three years,'" adding, "This is an act of inciting rebellion without meeting the conditions to declare martial law." Director Kim Yong-min said, "The Jeon Gwang-hoon faction is defending the main instigators of the December 3 rebellion," and added, "Even the Deputy Minister of Justice, appointed by the rebellion leader Yoon Suk-yeol as president, said there is a considerable degree of evidence regarding the rebellion charges in this case." He continued, "We support democratic constitutional governance that resolves issues through discussion and voting without martial law or rebellion," and added, "Therefore, we will continue to monitor your group to ensure there are no further crimes of inciting rebellion."

Pastor Kim Dimode stated, "We plan to launch the 'Korean Church Rebellion Incitement and Propaganda Monitoring Center' to crack down on the far-right forces' incitement and propaganda of rebellion." He also said, "During the impeachment crisis and times of turmoil, far-right church pastors have frequently incited or propagandized rebellion to their congregations and the public," and added, "To ensure the peace of civil society and restore the Korean church's self-purification ability, we intend to crack down on the incitement and propaganda of rebellion by Yoon Suk-yeol occurring inside and outside the church."

Earlier, on the 16th, Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon held a press conference hosted by the National Movement Headquarters for Setting the Republic of Korea Straight (Daegukbon) at the Liberty Unification Party headquarters in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, claiming, "Among the 192 left-wing and opposition members elected in the 22nd general election, half are fake," and asserted, "I am convinced it was an election fraud." He said, "Everyone gathered in Gwanghwamun last weekend were members of the Liberty Unification Party, yet only 640,000 votes were counted. Who would accept this?" and added, "The National Intelligence Service has known this for a long time, and President Yoon warned about it even when he was Prosecutor General."
