In addition to providing goods, the hy Central Research Institute Committee has continuously discovered and supported volunteer activities that help the daily lives of vulnerable groups. This year, notable activities included senior citizens' longevity photo shoots and holiday experience booths. The hy Central Research Institute Committee plans to continue its sharing activities next year, which marks its 50th anniversary, by collaborating with local governments based on an understanding of the local community.
Lee Jaehwan, head of the hy Central Research Institute, said, "In the cold winter, we carried out briquette-sharing volunteer work together with employees to share warmth," adding, "We will strive even harder to fulfill our responsibilities as a social enterprise that has delivered loving hands to the local community for decades."
Meanwhile, hy has recently been expanding various social contribution activities by signing agreements with local governments one after another. Earlier, on the 2nd, hy signed a 'Public-Private Cooperation System for a Seoul Without Loneliness' agreement with Seoul City and pledged to sponsor health drinks. Additionally, hy signed an agreement with Gyeonggi Province to establish a social safety net for vulnerable groups and agreed to provide dairy products and fresh foods.
Going forward, hy plans to build a competitive public-private cooperation model by incorporating the know-how of its social contribution activity 'Care for Elderly Living Alone,' which has been ongoing since 1994. The beneficiaries will also be expanded from mainly elderly living alone to include women, youth, and others.
