'Tera Light' Also Joins the Box Office Success
HiteJinro announced that the cumulative sales of its flagship beer brand 'Terra' have surpassed 5.08 billion bottles. This equates to a sales rate of 28 bottles per second (330mL), with a total volume of 1.67 billion liters, enough to fill approximately 671 Olympic-sized swimming pools. Since its launch in March 2019, Terra has consistently attracted attention by setting the fastest sales record among domestic beer brands, surpassing 1 million cases sold within just 39 days of release.
The ‘Terra Light,’ launched last July, also contributed to sales growth. To achieve a rich beer flavor that is difficult for light beers to have, Terra Light was made using malt extract that was brewed four times longer than regular beer. The packaging is based on the optimized Terra swirl bottle, with differentiated colors and labels. Based on consumer preference surveys, a transparent bottle was introduced along with a 'Cobalt Blue' label color. According to market research firm Nielsen Korea, Terra Light ranked first in light beer sales at nationwide large supermarkets within just one month of its launch. As of last month, it has widened the sales gap with the second-ranked brand by more than 1.5 times, maintaining its lead.
Oh Seong-taek, Executive Director of Marketing at HiteJinro, said, "As the trend of enjoying health in a fun way spreads mainly among younger generations, Terra Light is gaining positive responses as a healthy alternative. We will carry out various activities to lead new trends in the domestic beer market and grow together with Terra."
Meanwhile, to celebrate the Christmas season, Terra released a limited edition 'Terra Christmas Edition' in collaboration with the creative design studio 'SUPERFICTION.' This product is the fourth Terra art collaboration limited edition, following the 2021 'Terra X Smiley Edition,' the 2022 'Terra X Kim Sun-woo Edition,' and the 2024 'Terra X Hijo Edition.'
