The event will proceed with a variety of programs including ▲pre-ceremony performance (Biseul Dance Troupe’s Bitbolmu performance) ▲entrance of the flags for the National Sports Festival and Para Sports Festival ▲preparation status report ▲presentation of appointment letters ▲and a success prayer performance.

At the event, the flags of the festivals, which were received at the closing ceremony of the Gyeongnam National Sports Festival and National Para Sports Festival last October, will be handed over to Mayor Park Hyung-jun by Jo Won-woo, the gold medalist in sailing at the Hangzhou Asian Games, and wheelchair rugby athlete Lee Eun-kyung.

Following this, the D-300 day commemorative event marking the countdown to next year’s festival will be held with a clock tower unveiling ceremony using video, officially signaling the start of the sports festival.

The “countdown display” is scheduled to be installed at the plaza in front of City Hall.

To build social consensus for this festival, which is being held in Busan for the first time in 25 years, and to establish organic and active cooperation with related institutions and organizations, the city has formed the organizing committee with members from all walks of society and plans to operate it until the conclusion of the 2027 National Sports for All Festival.

The organizing committee is integrated to manage both the National Sports Festival and the National Para Sports Festival, with the mayor serving as the chairperson, supported by 28 advisors, 6 vice-chairpersons, and 103 committee members.

The committee members consist of 138 prominent figures representing various sectors, including members of the National Assembly, city, district, and county council members, district mayors and county heads, university presidents, military, police, fire departments, media and broadcasting, economy, finance, religion, culture and arts, sports, and civic organizations. They will provide expert advice on various support measures from the preparation stage of the festival.

Additionally, under the organizing committee, an executive committee composed of the city government, city education office, city (disabled) sports council, and police agency, as well as district and county operating committees consisting of 16 districts and counties, will be established to handle the practical preparations for the festival.

The city has newly established the National Sports Festival Planning Team to ensure smooth preparation for the festival, including comprehensive planning for both the National Sports Festival and the National Para Sports Festival, development of symbols, production of promotional videos, and construction and renovation of venues.

Furthermore, actor Kim Dong-jun, formerly of ZE:A, and fencing star Song Se-ra have been appointed as ambassadors to widely promote the festival, and artistic director Park Kal-lin has been appointed as the general director for the opening and closing ceremonies, raising expectations for next year’s event.

Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, “Next year’s National Sports Festival will be prepared together with the citizens of Busan for a united Korea in Busan, the ‘Global Hub City’ and ‘Sports Paradise City.’ As the festival is being held in Busan again after 25 years, we will do our utmost to make it a festival that offers comfort, safety, and inspiration to people with disabilities and non-disabled participants, as well as athletes and spectators.”
