Yusangim Gwagi Meets Corporate CTO to Discuss Technology Commercialization of Research Institutes

Yoo Sang-im, Minister of Science and ICT, who is focusing on the commercialization of technology at government-funded research institutes in the field of science and technology, met with chief technology officers (CTOs) of large and medium-sized enterprises to hear their opinions.

On the 19th, Minister Yoo met with corporate leaders, the ultimate consumers of technology commercialization, at the Hall of Fame on the first floor of the Korea Industrial Technology Association in Yangjae-dong, Seoul. This event was the first case of the ‘Major Policy Issue Meeting,’ where Minister Yoo directly listens to field opinions to ensure unwavering policy implementation even during emergency situations triggered by martial law.

At the meeting, chief technology officers from SK Telecom, LG AI Research Institute, Naver, SK Biopharm, Chong Kun Dang, Kolmar Holdings, LG Electronics, Hanwha Robotics, and Kolon Industries attended to discuss private sector participation plans and policy proposals for building a technology commercialization ecosystem in Korea.

Minister Yoo stated, “Large and medium-sized enterprises play an important role in the technology commercialization ecosystem as the final consumers and investors who can evaluate the value of technology from a global market perspective,” adding, “The Ministry of Science and ICT will continue to listen to voices from research and industry sectors on the ground and strive to prepare policies to foster a healthy technology commercialization ecosystem.”
