Pusan National University Elects Professor Yongjae Lee as 20th Faculty Chair

Regular General Meeting of the Professors' Association Held on the 18th - Election... Two-Year Term Starting March Next Year

Professor Lee Yong-jae from the Department of Library and Information Science at the College of Social Sciences has been elected as the 20th Chairperson of the Pusan National University Faculty Association and will serve a two-year term starting next year.

Pusan National University (President Choi Jae-won) Faculty Association held its regular general meeting on the afternoon of the 18th at the Faculty Association Hall on campus and elected Professor Lee Yong-jae (age 60) from the Department of Library and Information Science at the College of Social Sciences as the 20th Chairperson of the Faculty Association. The new chairperson’s term will be from March 2025 to February 2027, lasting two years.

Professor Lee Yong-jae earned his bachelor's degree from Seoul National University and his master's and doctoral degrees from Pusan National University. He is currently a professor in the Department of Library and Information Science at the College of Social Sciences, Pusan National University. He previously served as an executive member of the 13th and 16th Faculty Associations at Pusan National University and held positions such as Director of the Pusan National University Library, Director of the Archives, and Head of the Foreign Academic Journal Support Center.

Professor Lee Yong-jae, the newly elected chairperson, stated, “Pusan National University is the first comprehensive national university established after liberation. I will strive to find an educational model that is ‘truly Pusan National University’ and ensure that the Faculty Association becomes a genuine representative body for the professors. I hope that all professors will join together and contribute their strength and wisdom.”
