Namyangju City Holds Public Management Committee Meeting for City Buses

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Ju Gwang-deok) announced on the 18th that it held the first 2024 city bus public management system operation committee meeting on the 17th.

The city bus public management system operation committee consists of a total of 9 members, including 2 ex officio members (including the chairman, the Director of the Transportation Bureau), 7 appointed members such as city council members and external experts. The committee performs functions such as deliberating and deciding on matters related to △route adjustments △standard transportation cost calculation △selection of routes under the route bidding system.

At this meeting, new committee members were awarded appointment certificates, a vice chairman was elected, and agenda items were reviewed.

In particular, a proposal to extend and increase the number of buses on the Thank You 24 route, based on the newly opened provincial road line 8 section from Chasan to Sambong on October 3, was submitted and approved as originally planned. This is expected to greatly improve transportation convenience for residents of Jaejaegi Village, Sambong-ri, Joan-myeon, towards Maseok.

A Namyangju City official stated, “Through the city bus public management system operation committee, we will further strengthen the public nature of public transportation and continuously strive to improve transportation convenience for citizens.”
