The mayor emphasized, “With the National Assembly's approval of the impeachment motion, the Prime Minister's acting authority system has been activated, and the livelihood economy is experiencing a downturn due to rising exchange rates and weakened consumer sentiment. We must prioritize the safety and daily lives of our citizens.” He continued, “To inject vitality into the investment and consumption sectors that have contracted during the year-end and New Year period, I ask that preparations be made immediately once the budget bill is approved so that next year’s main budget can be swiftly executed from the first day of the new year. Also, please actively execute this year’s budget to avoid any unused funds.”
The mayor stated, “Since small business owners, self-employed individuals, and the tourism and MICE sectors are directly hit by high interest rates, high prices, and economic recession, we must establish a rapid support system. Efforts should be made starting from the public sector to revitalize the local commercial district through the normal operation of local government festivals and events planned for the year-end and New Year, holding year-end gatherings, and early execution of welfare points.”
He added, “The severe cold season is a time when marginalized groups such as low-income households and elderly living alone can become physically and economically more vulnerable. Therefore, I ask that you focus your capabilities on discovering and caring for vulnerable groups by inspecting welfare facilities, expanding care services, and identifying households at risk in blind spots. I also request that each neighborhood and public health center pay special attention to managing infectious diseases among energy-vulnerable and health-vulnerable groups during winter.”
The mayor emphasized, “In response to heavy snow, cold waves, and fires, we must establish a thorough emergency duty system and manuals. Especially for snow removal, timing is crucial, so preparations must be made to ensure that snow removal vehicles can be operated at any time.”
He also requested, “As it is the year-end, many year-end parties and gatherings are expected. As the Ministry of the Interior and Safety has also advised, year-end gatherings need to proceed as planned for the sake of the local economy. However, please ensure that public officials do not violate their duty to maintain dignity, and make special efforts to establish public service discipline.”
