Gwangju and Jeonnam will experience strong winds and a significant drop in temperature.


According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 18th, most of the rain or snow had stopped by the afternoon, but snow is expected to continue until nighttime in the western areas of Jeonnam.


In most areas of Gwangju and Jeonnam, sub-zero temperatures are expected from the morning of the 19th, with cold weather continuing from the morning commute until the afternoon. In the coastal regions of Jeonnam, where a strong wind advisory has been issued, gusts are expected to exceed 70km/h (20m/s).


The morning's lowest temperatures are expected to be -6 degrees in Naju, Damyang, Hwasun, and Yeongam; -5 degrees in Muan and Yeonggwang; -4 degrees in Gwangju, Suncheon, and Haenam; 3 degrees in Gwangyang and Mokpo; -2 degrees in Wando; and -1 degree in Yeosu. The day's highest temperatures will be 9 degrees in Gwangyang and Suncheon; 8 degrees in Yeosu and Wando; 7 degrees in Gwangju, Damyang, Yeongam, Haenam, and Hwasun; 6 degrees in Naju and Muan; and 5 degrees in Yeonggwang, which is lower than the previous day.


Waves in the sea will range from 0.5 to 3.5 meters in the West Sea and from 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the South Sea. Fine dust levels in both Gwangju and Jeonnam are expected to remain at a 'good' level.


An official from the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration said, "As temperatures may drop significantly and strong winds are expected in some areas, please pay attention to facility management and safety accidents."
