This briefing session was the second held following the first session on April 17, demonstrating the city’s commitment to continuously communicate with residents, actively reflect their opinions, and jointly promote the project.
About 80 participants, including landowners, stakeholders, and local residents concerned with the industrial complex development, attended the briefing, making it a successful event.
During the session, information was provided on the industrial complex development plan (draft), traffic feasibility review (draft), environmental impact assessment (preliminary draft), disaster impact assessment (preliminary draft), overall project implementation plans, and the timing of compensation negotiations. A Q&A session was also held to address residents’ questions.
Going forward, Yeoju City will make efforts to listen to residents’ opinions as much as possible during the public inspection period and reflect them in the project. Regardless of the opinion collection period, the city plans to continuously gather residents’ feedback while promoting the project.
The Ganam Sinhae General Industrial Complex Development Project involves developing five industrial complexes totaling approximately 60,000㎡ in the Sinhae-ri area of Ganam-eup. The city plans to complete administrative procedures promptly by the first half of 2025 and commence construction in the second half of 2025.
Mayor Lee Chung-woo of Yeoju stated, “We will ensure that the opinions presented at the residents’ briefing are sufficiently reflected in the industrial complex development project and do our best to start and complete construction on schedule. By attracting high-tech companies, we aim to transform Yeoju into an industrial hub and revitalize the local economy through the creation of quality jobs, so that our citizens can receive greater benefits.”
