Pocheon-si Selected as Best Institution for Public Property Management Analysis and Diagnosis

Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) was selected as the best local government in the "Comprehensive Survey and Management Analysis and Diagnosis of Public Property" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, receiving a special grant of 40 million won.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety conducted a full survey of public property across local governments nationwide, analyzed the management and utilization status, and introduced the "Public Property Management Analysis and Diagnosis Indicators" from this year to promote the expansion and efficiency of local finances.

The diagnosis was conducted through 13 detailed indicators to evaluate the efficiency of public property utilization, including ▲appropriateness of public property management plans ▲proper management of public property such as ledger, registration, and computer system maintenance, imposition and collection of lease fees and compensation fees ▲timely operation of the Public Property Deliberation Committee ▲efforts to increase income from property management.

As a result of the diagnosis, Pocheon City was selected as the best local government nationwide and received a special grant of 40 million won from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

In addition, Pocheon City signed the first-ever entrusted management contract for general property with the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation (LX) nationwide for professional property management. Through this, it systematically and efficiently manages public property, including the imposition and collection of lease fees, public property status surveys, and imposition of compensation fees for unauthorized occupancy.

The selection as the best local government in the public property sector and the first implementation of entrusted management of general property demonstrate that Pocheon City is playing a leading role by shifting the public property management paradigm from "simple maintenance and preservation" to "active management and profit generation."

Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon City said, "We will continue to systematically manage public property and do our best in public property management by exploring active utilization plans such as leasing and sale of idle property."
