On the 18th, the police investigating the '12·3 Emergency Martial Law Incident' dispatched investigators to the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Division (Gong-su-cheo, or the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials).
On the 18th, the Special Investigation Unit of the National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters announced that they sent about 2 to 3 investigators to Gong-su-cheo on a short-term dispatch basis. The number of dispatched personnel and the duration are expected to be adjusted as needed.
At around 12:20 p.m. on the same day, the Special Investigation Unit, jointly with Gong-su-cheo, arrested Mun Sang-ho, the Commander of the Intelligence Command, on charges including rebellion. Commander Mun is accused of deploying intelligence agents to the Central Election Commission in Gwacheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, on the 3rd, an act linked to President Yoon Seok-yeol.
The police transferred Commander Mun's case to Gong-su-cheo. The joint investigation body (Gong-jo-bon) is composed of the National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters, Gong-su-cheo, and the Ministry of National Defense's Investigation Headquarters.
