Addition of a Gentle and Safe Slope Next to the Existing Steep Slope

Dalbit Park was newly renovated through maintenance of aging park facilities such as repaving of walking paths and ground surfaces as part of an environmental improvement project in the first half of this year. However, not all residents' requests were reflected, leading to some dissatisfaction due to facilities that were not fully maintained.

Recently, Goyang City received complaints from residents of Dalbit Village Complex 1 Apartments adjacent to Dalbit Park regarding inconvenience in using the park entrance. The city inspected the site together with the manager of Dalbit Village Complex 1 and the representative of the residents' association.

As a result of the inspection, the entrance mainly used by residents was found to have a steep slope and a rough concrete surface, making it difficult for elderly people with mobility issues, wheelchair users, stroller users, and cyclists to pass through.

Goyang Special City reviewed a plan to add a gentle and safe ramp next to the existing entrance to address these inconveniences and plans to start construction within this week for prompt installation.

Yang Hyun-jong, head of Deogyang Park Management Division at the Green City Project Office, said, “We will do our best to complete the project within the year to create a safe pedestrian environment for local residents.”
