Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 18th that it was selected as an ‘Excellent’ autonomous district in the Seoul City evaluation of the 2024 Integrated Disaster Site Support Headquarters.
Eunpyeong-gu operates an Integrated Support Headquarters to minimize damage caused by disasters by focusing on on-site response, relief for disaster victims, and recovery efforts during disasters such as fires.
The integrated support headquarters field training conducted at a large-scale store last March. Provided by Eunpyeong-gu.
In fact, multiple evacuees occurred during the apartment fire in Jingwan-dong in January and the multi-family housing fire in Yeokchon-dong in May. Accordingly, Eunpyeong-gu operated the Integrated Support Headquarters to promptly respond to and recover from the disaster by disseminating information, managing the injured, providing relief to disaster victims, and handling on-site recovery.
In particular, the district conducts its own on-site training for disaster response capabilities, including large-scale store fires, forest fires, apartment fires, and electric vehicle fires. Additionally, disaster response tabletop exercises are conducted at the Disaster Site Command Capability Enhancement Center (ICTC) in Jingwan-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, together with related organizations such as the fire station and police station.
District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said, "Our district always strives to prevent disasters such as fires," and added, "We will continue to do our best to strengthen capabilities at disaster sites and minimize damage."
