Last year 67 and this year 87 heated seats added at bus stops... Total 154 in operation
Total 154 installed at 168 city bus stops, achieving 92% installation rate
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) has installed additional heated seats to ensure that residents can use public transportation warmly and comfortably during the winter cold wave.
The heated seats automatically operate when the temperature drops below 16 degrees Celsius, maintaining the surface temperature of the seat at 37 degrees Celsius.
The operating hours are from 4 a.m. to 12 a.m., and the district helps residents wait warmly for buses during the hours when buses run from early morning to late at night.
This year, the district installed additional heated seats at a total of 87 locations, including the Bongcheon Intersection bus stop, and operates a total of 154 seats, adding to the 67 heated seats installed until last year.
As a result, heated seats have been installed at 154 out of 168 city bus stops with boarding platforms, raising the installation rate to 92% by the end of the year.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “We will enhance residents’ convenience by providing a space where they can warm themselves briefly from the biting cold while waiting for the bus,” and added, “We will continue to strive to create an environment where residents can conveniently use public transportation.”
