Received Donation of 971 Artifacts Including Yeosuji
Yeosu City, South Jeolla Province (Mayor Chung Kimyung), announced on the 17th that a donation ceremony was held in the mayor's office for artifacts to be exhibited at the Yeosu Museum.
On this day, Mayor Chung Kimyung presented donation plaques and expressed gratitude to two individuals, Hwang Seungwon (80) and Choi Miran (66), who donated valuable personal collections to Yeosu City.

This year, a total of 971 items have been donated to Yeosu City, including: ▲Yeosuji (donated by Hwang Seungwon) ▲Chungminsidan (donated by Choi Miran) ▲Portraits and artifacts from Gwanwangmyo and Mashindang (donated by Hoenggan Village, Nam-myeon) ▲Yeosu High School commuter season ticket (donated by Park Sanghyun) ▲Rubbing of the stone mirror from Hwaeomsa Temple in Gurye (donated by Han Seungchan) ▲Calligraphy by Kim Daejung (donated by Kim Younggwan) ▲Nameplate of Yeocheon Central Elementary School (donated by Shin Donggeun).
In particular, the portraits of Guan Yu, Liu Bei, Zhang Fei, and Okcheon Daesa, donated by Hoenggan Village in Nam-myeon, Yeosu, are of great regional historical significance as they were enshrined in the only Guan Yu shrine in the area.
Previously, since September 2019, the city has been running a campaign to collect artifacts for the Yeosu Museum. To date, it has secured 10,952 artifacts, including a handwritten copy of "Yeosu Chongsoerok" by Oh Hoengmok, produced earlier than the copy held at Jangseogak, the naval training manual "Sujohol" from Jeolla Left Naval Command, as well as videos and oral records of Yeosu's intangible cultural heritage.
Mayor Chung Kimyung said, "I deeply thank the donors for passing on these precious artifacts to widely promote Yeosu's proud history and culture," and added, "The donated artifacts will be well exhibited in the upcoming Yeosu Museum so that many people can share in their value."
