Mayor Park says additional statement will clear any misunderstanding
It has been confirmed that Mayor Park Hongryul of Mokpo was unable to participate in the statement calling for Yoon Sukyeol's resignation due to a mistake during the process of creating a group KakaoTalk chat for the Jeonnam Mayors and County Governors Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association).
On the 16th, the Association stated, "The reason Mayor Park did not participate in the impeachment statement against Yoon Sukyeol on the 5th was due to an error at the working level of the Association."

Kim Sung, the head of the Association and the county governor of Jangheung, publicly stated, "When we issued the first statement on the 5th, 22 mayors and county governors created a group chat on KakaoTalk. At that time, Mayor Park Hongryul agreed to participate, but due to a working-level mistake, his name was omitted," and added, "I apologize to Mayor Park Hongryul of Mokpo."
In response, Mayor Park said, "I was embarrassed because my name was left out," and continued, "I could not point out communication issues or errors at the working level within the Association, so I had no choice but to say there was 'political neutrality.'" He added, "I have repeatedly expressed my support for impeachment," and expressed his gratitude for the Association head's explanation by saying, "With the additional statement released by the Association on the 16th, there should be no misunderstanding."
It is explained that he used the pretext of 'political neutrality' indirectly, out of concern that pointing out the Association's error would reveal internal division within the group.
On the 16th, the Association released a statement welcoming the passage of the impeachment bill against Yoon Sukyeol. The statement said, "Yoon Sukyeol is the ringleader of an insurrection and must be investigated swiftly and thoroughly," and urged, "Investigative authorities should immediately arrest and detain Yoon Sukyeol for investigation."
Meanwhile, on the 5th, the Association released a statement calling for the resignation of President Yoon Sukyeol, omitting Mayor Park Hongryul from the list of group members.
