Kakao announced on the 17th that it has concluded this year's activities of 'Project Danggo,' which supports the digital transformation of small business owners, and held performance sharing meetings in each project region.
Kakao held sessions to share achievements by the 12th of this month in five project areas of the 'Danggo Market - Excellent Market Creation' initiative, promoted together with Kakao Impact and the Small Enterprise and Market Service, as well as in eight areas of the second phase of the 'Danggo Street' project. Key figures including local merchants, local government officials, representatives from the Small Enterprise and Market Service, and Kakao staff attended the events.
Additionally, among the merchants participating in the Danggo Market - Excellent Market Creation project?namely ▲Sokcho Tourism and Fisheries Market ▲Busan Bansong Big Market ▲Pohang Geun Donghae Market ▲Seoul Mangwon Market ▲Seoul Inheon Market?15 merchants who achieved outstanding results were awarded and encouraged, receiving certificates and gifts.
Launched in 2022, Project Danggo has been conducted targeting traditional markets (Danggo Markets), local commercial districts (Danggo Streets), and small business owners nationwide (Danggo Creation Support Centers). To date, digital education has been provided to a total of 212 markets, 15 commercial districts, and over 2,800 merchants. Through this, 2,800 new Talk Channels were created, and 730,000 customers registered as friends on these Talk Channels, establishing online communication channels for participating merchants.
The Danggo Market - Excellent Market Creation project was initiated this year with the goal of discovering and spreading best practices in the digital transformation of traditional markets. The five participating markets each surpassed 10,000 KakaoTalk Channel friends, laying the foundation for communication with loyal customers.
The Danggo Street project, started this year, supported the digital transformation of 842 stores across 15 local commercial districts. Among these, 840 stores opened KakaoTalk Channels, and 796 stores registered their store management on KakaoMap.
Furthermore, through the 'Danggo Creation Support Center,' Kakao has provided a total of approximately 25.5 billion KRW worth of Talk Channel message subsidies to small business owners from 2022 to the present. Through this, over 66,000 small business owners have communicated with customers via Talk Channel messages. The center offers small business owners free message sending costs of 300,000 KRW.
