Hancom Partners with Intel... Launches On-Device AI Market Strategy

Hancom announced on the 17th that it will target the on-device artificial intelligence (AI) market through collaboration with Intel.

Hancom and Intel have decided to focus their capabilities to respond to the expansion of the on-device AI market and to provide new user experiences in AI PC environments. Hancom is currently conducting tests to expand its flagship AI products, 'Hancom Assistant' and 'Hancompedia,' into the on-device domain.

In particular, they are discussing ways to maximize synergy through the cooperation of Intel's RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) technology and Hancompedia. Additionally, Hancom plans to develop online and offline educational programs in collaboration with its subsidiary, the edutech company Hancom Academy.

On-device AI is a technology that processes AI computations directly within the user's device instead of cloud servers. It can process information and make decisions in real time without transmitting data to external servers.

Building on this collaboration, Hancom plans to establish a foundation for the advancement and expansion of not only Hancom Assistant but also the upcoming 'Hancom SLM (Small Language Model)'.

Kim Yeon-su, CEO of Hancom, said, "As the AI PC market is expected to grow rapidly, collaboration with Intel will significantly enhance the user experience of Hancom AI products. Through on-device AI, we will support more users in easily utilizing AI technology and lead AI popularization by expanding AI accessibility."

He added, "We will also strengthen our competitiveness in the global on-device AI market by linking the strengths and strategies of both companies."
