LE SSERAFIM ranks 66th, 1st among K-pop groups
The influence of K-pop stars in the U.S. market has been shown to be advancing. Famous idol groups such as Le Sserafim and Stray Kids have stood out on the Billboard charts. According to the U.S. market research firm 'Luminate,' K-pop idol groups have appeared on the newly established 'Luminate Index,' which measures artists' influence.

On the 17th, Luminate explained that the index, established in October this year, is composed of 30% streaming, 15% social networking services (SNS), 25% artist awareness, 15% mass appeal, and 15% engagement score. In particular, the 'engagement score' considers live event ticketing, live streaming ticketing, and brand engagement.
Luminate is a market research company that supplies album sales data to the U.S. Billboard charts. Regarding the purpose of creating the Luminate Index, the company stated it is "to provide a broad understanding of artist fandoms among U.S. consumers."
Among the top 250 on the Luminate Index for the third quarter of this year, a total of eight K-pop star groups were listed. Among them, Le Sserafim ranked highest at 66th place (72 points). Following were Stray Kids at 84th (70 points), NewJeans at 97th (68 points), Tomorrow X Together (TXT) at 106th (67 points), ITZY at 153rd (61 points), TWICE at 177th (60 points), (G)I-DLE at 225th (56 points), and BLACKPINK's Lisa at 235th (55 points).
BTS and BLACKPINK, who had no activities in the U.S. this year, did not appear on the rankings.
Meanwhile, the overall number one on the Luminate Index was global pop star Taylor Swift. British singer Adele ranked second, and Beyonc? was third.
The fact that K-pop stars, who are not from English-speaking countries, made it into the top 250 most influential artists in the U.S. is interpreted as a sign that the global status of K-pop and Korean popular music has risen significantly.
