U+tv's conversational search is a feature that enables customers to freely converse and search for desired information using the voice search button on the remote control. Previously, AI understood pre-input commands from customers' voice commands and provided the requested service, but after this update, advanced AI understands the context of conversational sentences and provides customized answers.
Previously, responses were provided mainly for sentences containing exact keywords such as "Find the movie 'Veteran'" or "Drama starring Cha Eun-woo," but conversational search can now provide answers through dialogue including additional content-related information like "Recommend a movie to watch with my family on Christmas" or "What do you think about Deadpool?"
Also, even if the exact title of the desired content is unknown, users can search based on background or theme. For example, searching "Find a movie about time slip" or "Find a movie about space war" will result in recommendations that meet those criteria.
Customers can ask questions and receive answers immediately through voice by simply pressing the voice search button on the remote control without accessing a separate app within the IPTV. It also provides appropriate guidance for IPTV-related inquiries such as "My Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting" or "What plan am I subscribed to?"
Additionally, customers can ask questions like "Should I watch Crime City or not?" or "Tell me the plot of Veteran 2" while watching live channels using the voice search button, and check the answers through messages displayed at the bottom of the screen without interrupting channel viewing.
LG Uplus has initially applied the conversational search feature to some of the latest set-top boxes. Customers using the targeted set-top boxes can use the new feature without any separate installation process. LG Uplus plans to sequentially update so that all U+tv customers can use the conversational search feature in the future.
