International Charter Flights to Operate at Ulsan Airport During Industrial Festival

Two Round Trips to Sister Cities Planned Twice During Next Year's Festival Period

Expecting Boost in Foreign Tourist Attraction, Economy, and Ulsan Airport Vitality

Next year, during the Ulsan Industrial Festival, international charter flights will operate at Ulsan Airport.


On the 17th at 3 p.m., Ulsan City announced that it will sign an 'MOU for the Launch of International Flights at Ulsan Airport' together with five organizations including Ulsan Customs, Ulsan Immigration and Foreigners Office, Yeongnam Regional Headquarters of the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, National Ulsan Quarantine Station, and Ulsan Metropolitan City Tourism Association at the main building's 2nd-floor conference room of City Hall.


This agreement was prepared as part of inter-agency cooperation to promote the launch of an international charter route that will operate two round trips to one sister city during next year's Ulsan Industrial Festival.


Six representatives from related organizations will attend the signing ceremony, including Ahn Hyo-dae, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs, Kim Han-jin, Director of Ulsan Customs, Park Jin-su, Director of Ulsan Immigration and Foreigners Office, Song Tae-bok, Head of Yeongnam Regional Headquarters of the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency, Lee Young-jong, Director of National Ulsan Quarantine Station, and Kwon Jeong-hyun, President of Ulsan Metropolitan City Tourism Association.


The six organizations plan to cooperate on △ administrative and financial support related to international flight operations and establishment of a cooperative system among related agencies △ construction of facilities and dispatch of experts in CIQ, customs, immigration control, and quarantine fields △ development and joint promotion of domestic and international tourism products △ strengthening continuous cooperation channels through dedicated staff assigned by each organization.


An official from Ulsan City said, “An increase in air travel demand is expected due to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit to be held in Gyeongju next year and the Ulsan Industrial Festival. We will promote the expansion of domestic routes and the launch of international charter flights to attract foreign tourists and revitalize the airport.”
