Democratic Party: "Forming Livelihood Economy Recovery Team to Oversee Legislation and Budget"

The Democratic Party of Korea announced on the 16th that it will form a Livelihood Economy Recovery Task Force to oversee supplementary budgets and legislative agendas.

On the same day, the Democratic Party held a party meeting to finalize this direction. Yoon Jong-gun, the party's floor spokesperson, told reporters after the meeting, "Representative Heo, who serves as the Democratic Party's Budget and Accounts Special Committee secretary, will take charge of responsibly discussing legislative tasks and supplementary budgets." He added, "Regarding the supplementary budget, topics such as support measures to revitalize the local economy for boosting domestic demand, artificial intelligence (AI) support, and power supply chain issues were discussed. Within the party, projects requiring increased funding have been organized, so the necessity of the supplementary budget and related matters will be jointly discussed by the Livelihood Recovery Task Force and the Policy Committee."

Meanwhile, concerning the permanent special prosecutor related to the insurrection, it is reported that the Democratic Party will recommend two members, while the Party for Justice and Peace and the Progressive Party will each recommend one. Floor spokesperson Yoon explained, "Although a general special prosecutor is the priority, the permanent special prosecutor must also get started, so the special prosecutor recommendation committee will begin its work today."
