Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 15th that it received 50 jars of kimchi directly made by chefs appearing on the Netflix program ‘Black and White Chef,’ organized by Advanced Cuisine (Chef Agency).

On the same day, the chefs carefully prepared kimchi at a restaurant located in Songpa-gu using fresh ingredients purchased from Gyeongdong Market in the morning, and delivered it to Dongdaemun-gu. The delivery ceremony was held in the lobby on the first floor of the district office, where four chefs including ▲ Kim Mi-ryeong of ‘Imokase 1ho’ ▲ Jo Gwang-hyo of ‘Manjjitnam’ ▲ Oh Chang-hyun of ‘Eunsujeo’ ▲ Kim Byung-muk of ‘Yakitori King’ attended and brightened the event.

The 50 jars of kimchi delivered this time are scheduled to be provided to 50 vulnerable households in the local community.

Chef Kim Mi-ryeong, known as ‘Imokase 1ho,’ said, “It is very meaningful to participate in such a significant event while running a restaurant in Gyeongdong Market, which represents Dongdaemun-gu,” and added, “I feel a great sense of fulfillment thinking that the residents will eat the kimchi made with all my heart.”

Yoo Hyun-sook, Director of the Welfare Policy Division of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “The residents who received the kimchi carefully made by the chefs will be very pleased,” and added, “We hope you will continue to show more interest and affection for Dongdaemun-gu in the future.”
