Strengthening Cooperation Networks Including Jeonnam TP and YGPA

The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Gu Chung-gon, hereinafter GFEZ Authority) held the "2024 GFEZ Related Organizations Joint Investment Attraction Workshop" on the 16th at the Yeosu Utop Marina Hotel.

On this day, the workshop was attended by Gu Chung-gon, Commissioner of the GFEZ Authority, Park Seong-hyun, President of Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (YGPA), Oh Ik-hyun, Director of Jeonnam Technopark (Jeonnam TP), as well as about 70 officials and related personnel in charge of investment attraction from YGPA, Jeonnam TP, Gwangyang City, Hadong County, and neighboring cities and counties.

The event was organized to revitalize investment attraction in the Gwangyang Bay area and promote regional economic development, aiming to strengthen the investment attraction capabilities of public officials and related organization staff and to expand the cooperation network.

The first presentation of the workshop was delivered by Kim Se-hoon, Head of the Chemical Department at the GFEZ Authority, who analyzed the basics of the petrochemical industry and the crisis factors of the domestic petrochemical industry, and presented future strategic tasks to overcome difficulties faced by companies.

Next, Baek Hyung-yeop, Senior Researcher at Jeonnam TP, provided an easy-to-understand explanation of major corporate support projects in 2025, including customized R&D projects for regional demand and the dissemination and expansion of smart factories. Lastly, Jeong Yeon-hyung, Deputy Director of YGPA, attracted participants' attention by introducing the Yeosu Gwangyang Port hinterland complex, its operational status, and the procedures for moving in.

A special lecture applicable to daily life was also conducted. Son Jeong-young from the Future Education Academy gave a lecture on "How to Use AI Assistant ChatGPT," and Baek Chang-ui from Chonnam National University lectured on "Condition Training through Stretching."

Gu Chung-gon, Commissioner of the GFEZ Authority, said, "The GFEZ Authority, YGPA, and Jeonnam TP are partners playing a pivotal role in establishing a corporate growth foundation and attracting global advanced companies in the Gwangyang Bay area," adding, "I hope this workshop served as an opportunity to further strengthen the investment attraction cooperation network among related organization staff."
