Second Summons Issued to Yoon for Noncompliance with November 11 Summons Notice
On the 16th, the prosecution investigating the December 3 emergency martial law incident notified President Yoon Seok-yeol of a second summons. After he did not respond to the summons on the 11th, they sent another attendance request, seemingly increasing pressure on President Yoon.
The Prosecution's Special Investigation Headquarters for Emergency Martial Law (Head: Park Se-hyun, Chief Prosecutor of Seoul High Prosecutors' Office) announced that they had notified President Yoon of the second summons on this day. President Yoon faces charges including being the ringleader of rebellion and abuse of authority.
Earlier, the prosecution stated the day before, "On the 11th, we notified President Yoon to appear at 10 a.m. on the 15th, but he did not comply."
The Joint Investigation Headquarters (Joint HQ), composed of the police, the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO), and the Ministry of National Defense, also visited the Yongsan Presidential Office and the Hannam-dong Presidential Residence on this day to deliver an attendance request to President Yoon, but it was confirmed that they were unable to deliver it.
