Dongduk Women's University has suffered tens of billions of won in damages estimated by the university due to protests involving students opposing the engineering conversion who used lacquer and paint. Amid this, a famous comedy YouTuber with 900,000 subscribers posted a video showing a vehicle with the word "Dongduk" lacquered on it being smashed with a hammer, sparking controversy over ridicule.
On the 13th, the comedy channel "Hot Sauce" uploaded a video titled "Destroying a Friend's Car." The video shows the channel operator heading to a warehouse where a friend's compact car is parked, saying they are going to relieve stress. They wear safety gear such as goggles and proceed to smash the windows and body of a blue imported compact car with a hammer, then stomp on the car, damaging it.

The controversial part appears around the middle of the video, where the word "Dongduk" is seen written in white lacquer on the car's hood. Netizens speculated that "Dongduk" refers to current students of Dongduk Women's University who recently carried out protests by painting lacquer around the campus.
Some netizens criticized, saying, "Even though a martial law situation broke out, men treat Dongduk Women's University like a punching bag. The Dongduk Women's University students are pitiful," "This is clear misogyny," "What damage did you suffer from the Dongduk Women's University protests to post such a video?" "You just enjoy insulting women," "Another reason to oppose the engineering conversion," "Why should Dongduk Women's University be a subject of ridicule?" On the other hand, some defended the YouTuber while criticizing the Dongduk Women's University incident, responding with comments like, "What's wrong with mocking illegal protests?" "They deserve criticism," "They caused tens of billions in damage to the school and are still bold," "Watch it as entertainment," "It's just social satire humor, why are you uncomfortable?"
The video surpassed 500,000 views within two days of its release and had over 4,700 comments as of 11 a.m. on the 16th. However, it remains unclear whether the word "Dongduk" on the vehicle indeed refers to Dongduk Women's University or the reason why the word was written.
