8 Years of Support: 305 Patients Received 800 Million Won for Medical and Living Expenses
Bando Construction donated 100 million KRW to support medical expenses and living costs for construction accident workers.
Bando Construction announced on the 16th that it held a donation ceremony for 100 million KRW in support funds for construction accident workers at the Workers' Welfare Corporation Ansan Hospital located in Ildong, Sangnok-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi Province. On the 16th, Bando Construction announced that on the 13th, it held a 'Construction Accident Workers Medical and Living Expense Support Fund Delivery Ceremony' at the Workers' Welfare Corporation Ansan Hospital in Sangnok-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi Province. The event was attended by Kim Yong-cheol, President of Bando Construction; Lim Ho-young, Director of Workers' Welfare Corporation Ansan Hospital; Kim Jong-bok, Director of the Construction Industry Social Contribution Foundation; and Oh Jin-seok, a construction accident worker.
Since 2017, Bando Construction has supported 305 workers with 800 million KRW for medical and living expenses over eight years. The fund delivery is part of the social contribution campaign 'Creating Healthy Construction Sites,' initiated to provide financial support for the treatment and livelihood of injured workers. This reflects the will of Chairman Kwon Hong-sa to fulfill social responsibility as a comprehensive construction company. The recipients are selected by the Construction Industry Social Contribution Foundation based on the severity of the injury, disability status, social vulnerability, and number of dependents. Next year, the plan is to support about 40 construction accident workers.
On the day, Kim Yong-cheol, President of Bando Construction, visited Ansan Hospital to comfort patients and pledged support to help them return to their families. President Kim said, "I understand that many construction accident workers who have diligently worked to fulfill their responsibilities as family heads face difficulties not only in their livelihoods but also in securing medical expenses due to accidents," adding, "Bando Construction will not only support construction accident workers but also create a site culture that prioritizes the safety of construction site workers to prevent further accidents."
Lim Ho-young, Director of Workers' Welfare Corporation Ansan Hospital, expressed gratitude for Bando Construction's ongoing social contribution activities supporting construction accident workers every year, saying, "We will do our best in collaboration with the Construction Industry Social Contribution Foundation to help injured workers return to their homes and workplaces as soon as possible."
