Visit to Donghwa Entec... Proposal to Include Shipbuilding Equipment Industry in Busan AI Autonomous Manufacturing Leading Project
On the 16th, Yang Jae-saeng, Chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, personally visited Donghwa Entec, a specialized company in ship and plant heat exchange systems in the Busan area, toured the manufacturing site, and held an on-site meeting to listen to the immediate difficulties faced by the company.
Today's visit reflected Chairman Yang Jae-saeng's determination to inspect the challenges faced by local companies amid the ongoing economic downturn and to seek solutions on-site. Two corporate policy cooperation officers from Busan City, who have been dispatched to work at the Busan Chamber of Commerce since last September to prepare effective support measures, also participated.
During the meeting, Donghwa Entec requested that the shipbuilding equipment industry be included in Busan City's AI autonomous manufacturing leading project, explaining that active AI-related support is also necessary for the shipbuilding equipment industry.
Kim Dong-gun, CEO of Donghwa Entec, said, “As the integration of various technologies such as recently advancing AI technology and digital transformation is necessary to optimize the shipbuilding equipment production process and strengthen production competitiveness, we ask the Busan Chamber of Commerce to actively propose this to ensure that Busan City and the government provide proper support for local companies.”
In response, Yang Jae-saeng, Chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, expressed a strong determination to resolve the issue, stating, “In an economic environment led by the digital revolution and AI technology, local manufacturing must quickly follow this trend. Since Donghwa Entec intends to proactively introduce AI technology into the shipbuilding equipment production process, the Busan Chamber of Commerce will actively propose related matters to relevant organizations and seek support measures for the advancement of local companies.”
Donghwa Entec is a representative mid-sized local company producing and supplying system products related to ship and plant heat exchangers, and has also entered the hydrogen industry by developing a large-capacity hydrogen compressor for hydrogen bus charging stations.
The proposals made on this day will be actively submitted to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Busan City, and related organizations through collaboration between the One-Stop Business Support Center operated by the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the corporate policy cooperation officers.
