Activation of Special Measures for Resident Stability

Dongjak-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 16th that it will activate special measures to maintain regional stability following the passage of the presidential impeachment motion and the suspension of duties.

In response to the impeachment political situation, the district has been operating the ‘Civil Safety Task Force’ since the 10th, and amid this national administrative vacuum crisis, the mayor will directly lead the operation of the ‘Comprehensive Situation Room for Regional and Resident Stability Special Measures.’

Additionally, the district will strengthen the establishment of an emergency duty system for its public officials to thoroughly prepare so that no inconvenience occurs to residents. Special focus will be placed on winter safety measures such as fire prevention, road icing, and snow removal, maintaining close cooperation and response systems with the police station, fire station, and others. Cases of public service discipline lapses, such as various irregularities and complacency that may arise by taking advantage of the chaotic situation, will be strictly punished.

According to the district, the ‘Comprehensive Situation Room for Regional and Resident Stability Special Measures’ is composed of the Regional Stability Team, Regional Economy Team, Vulnerable Groups Support Team, and Safety Management Team, which will prepare livelihood stabilization measures by sector.

Going forward, the district plans to prepare detailed measures including its own financial support, considering internal and external circumstances. Mayor Park Il-ha said, “We have prepared special measures so that residents worried about the impeachment political situation can focus on their daily lives,” adding, “We will carry out various projects and events normally to prevent the local economy from shrinking due to year-end demand and will carefully manage and oversee every corner of the district.”
