The 8th Handmade Awards Successfully Concluded
Backpacker announced on the 16th that the handmade commerce platform, Idus, held the '2024 Handmade Awards.'
Now in its 8th year, the Handmade Awards is an event hosted by Idus to invite outstanding artists and customers who have led the development and popularization of the handicraft industry. It was held on the 13th at the Plenty Convention in Gangnam, Seoul. About 200 people, including artists and customers, attended the event.
This year's Handmade Awards was held under the slogan "Success Made with Both Hands." The event featured an exhibition of works by award-winning artists and a panel talk introducing Idus's policies and plans for the growth of artists. Kim Dong-hwan, CEO of Backpacker, presented the platform's strategy and vision centered on the message, "The success of artists is the success of Idus."

At the awards ceremony, 60 people were honored across 15 categories, including Grand Prize, Excellence Award, Craft & Design Award, and Customer Award. Award-winning artists received benefits such as ▲trophies and souvenirs ▲special certification badges displayed on the service ▲and online special exhibitions of the winning works.
This year's Grand Prize was awarded to 'Abiento.' Abiento is a handcrafted jewelry brand that showcases jewelry made from rare gemstones seldom seen in the market, receiving high praise in originality and uniqueness.
Kim Dong-hwan, CEO of Backpacker, said, "This award was based on the belief that the success of handmade artists is the success of the platform, aiming to highlight the efforts and value of creators. We will continue to expand support so that artists can carry on their creative activities stably and do our best to build a sustainable creative ecosystem."
