Successful Completion of Safety Experience Training for Goyang City Public Service Officers

Fire and Earthquake Response Training by Scenario at Citizen Safety Experience Center

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 16th that it successfully completed the '2024 Safety Experience Training for Civil Service Officers in Charge of Public Service' held over two days on the 6th and 13th at the Citizen Safety Experience Center for public officials working in departments directly interacting with citizens in Goyang City.

This training was designed to strengthen the disaster response capabilities of public officials performing duties directly related to citizen safety, with over 80 employees from public-facing departments including each district administrative welfare center and library center participating.


During this safety experience training, practical and immersive programs were conducted using the experiential facilities of the Citizen Safety Experience Center, including ▲fire suppression and evacuation ▲earthquake simulation and response techniques ▲cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) practice ▲4D disaster experience ▲subway fire evacuation, allowing participants to personally learn how to respond to various disaster situations.


An employee who participated in the safety experience training said, “It was practical training that can be immediately applied in the field,” and added, “I was able to systematically learn what to do to protect citizen safety in emergency situations.”


A representative from the Citizen Safety Department, which organized the training, stated, “The safety awareness of public officials directly connects to the safety of citizens,” and added, “We hope this training contributed to enhancing practical disaster response capabilities.” They also mentioned, “We plan to further strengthen the local community’s safety system by expanding various experiential training programs for the citizens of Goyang Special City in the future.”


Meanwhile, the Citizen Safety Experience Center in Goyang Special City operates various safety experience training programs throughout the year not only for public officials but also for the general public.
