14 Wonju Companies Selected for the '2024 Trade Day Export Tower'
Wonju City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Won Kang-su), announced on the 16th that export companies based in Wonju achieved significant results by winning awards in three categories, including the Grand Prize, at the ‘8th Gangwon Export Awards’ held on the 13th at Sejong Hotel in Chuncheon City, and that 14 companies were selected for the ‘61st Trade Day Export Tower’ held simultaneously.

The Gangwon Export Awards have been presented annually since 2017 to export companies in Gangwon Province. The main award is given to companies with direct export amounts exceeding $500,000 and outstanding export efforts, while special awards are given to companies with direct export amounts exceeding $50,000 that have achieved first-time exports, rapid export growth, or export market diversification.
The Grand Prize, awarded to the company with the best export performance, was honored to be selected as Samyang Ramen Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Dong-chan), a food manufacturing company representing not only Wonju City but also South Korea.
The Excellence Award went to PrimaX Co., Ltd. (CEO Han Sung-hoon), an automotive parts company, while the Special Awards were given to Nature Factory Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Jung-hyun), a health functional food manufacturer, and Daehan Fine Ceramic Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Yong-jin), a ceramic coating manufacturer.
The awarded companies receive priority in Gangwon Province’s export support projects and can also receive support for overseas marketing activities. In addition, Samyang Foods Co., Ltd. and PrimaX Co., Ltd. were selected for the Gangwon Export Awards Export Merit Award, which is given to individuals actively involved in expanding exports and export support activities.
Furthermore, among the 32 export companies in Gangwon Province selected for the ‘61st Trade Day Export Tower’ organized by the Korea International Trade Association, 14 companies based in Wonju City were listed, demonstrating the strength of Wonju companies.
The Wonju companies selected for the Export Tower are Neobiotech Co., Ltd., Eunseong Global Co., Ltd., RF Bio Co., Ltd., BR Pharm Co., Ltd., Winback Geist Co., Ltd., Hana Metal Co., Ltd., K2N Co., Ltd., Yuseong C&F Co., Ltd., Nature Factory Co., Ltd., Maruchi Co., Ltd., HBOT Medical Co., Ltd., LH Biomed Co., Ltd., MI One Co., Ltd., and TES Co., Ltd., totaling 14 companies.
Meanwhile, exports from Wonju City have shown a growth rate of 3.4% as of October 2024 according to the Korea International Trade Association export statistics, thanks to the outstanding performance of local companies. Following last year, export performance this year is also expected to surpass $1 billion, setting a new record.
A Wonju City official stated, “Next year, we will do our best to support companies by implementing various export competitiveness enhancement support projects that can increase exports of local companies, such as dispatching overseas market development teams.”
