Geumcheon-gu Holds Emergency Meeting for Administrative Stability Following Impeachment Approval... Year-End Party Resumes

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that, following the National Assembly's approval of the impeachment motion, an emergency meeting was held at 10 a.m. on the 15th in the small conference room on the 9th floor of Geumcheon-gu Office to ensure the stability of district administration.

The meeting was attended by a total of 16 people, including Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu; Bae Hyun-sook, Deputy Mayor; Kim Seong-gu, Director of the Administration and Safety Bureau; Park Eun-sil, Director of the Planning and Economy Bureau; Kim Eun-ju, Director of the Welfare and Family Bureau; Yu Hyun-soo, Director of the Green Future City Bureau; Yu Min-seok, Director of the Culture and Environment Bureau; Park Sang-bo, Director of the Transportation and Construction Bureau; So Ye-gyeong, Director of the Health Center; and heads of planning, communication, administration, audit, and autonomy departments.

The attendees discussed ▲ future plans following the progress of the impeachment motion ▲ measures to revitalize the emergency national economy ▲ and strategies to stabilize district administration amid the national government’s operational vacuum.

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon emphasized, “We need to consider and prepare departmental measures to stabilize people’s livelihoods. Additional measures are necessary at the district level to support economic actors such as small business owners, small and medium enterprises, and self-employed individuals. We must also check if there are vulnerable groups suffering due to the cold wave.”

He continued, “We should establish a close cooperative system with related institutions such as the police station and fire station. Since national policy projects may be postponed, we must proactively respond to cooperative projects between our district and the central government.”

In particular, he said, “To revitalize the local economy, the canceled year-end party should be resumed in a calm atmosphere. I hope it will be held as a year-end party to share the district’s emergency situation and countermeasures and to listen to residents’ opinions.”

The district decided to continue operating a dedicated organization for stabilizing district administration for the time being to ensure a prompt response to the emergency situation.
