Lee Jae-myung Proposes Formation of 'National Stability Council' with Parliament and Government (Update)

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, announced on the 15th, "I propose the formation of a bipartisan cooperation body for national governance normalization, a 'National Stability Council' involving both the National Assembly and the government."

During his first press conference after President Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment, held at the National Assembly that morning, Lee said, "The Democratic Party will actively cooperate with all parties to stabilize national governance and restore international trust."

Lee emphasized, "The current crisis is not fundamentally structural. It is superficial and temporary, like a storm on a mighty river," adding, "This crisis must be overcome, and as has been the case so far, it will be overcome."

He also requested, "Financial and foreign exchange authorities should operate a 24-hour monitoring system without any gaps."

Furthermore, he urged, "The Constitutional Court should promptly proceed with the dismissal process of President Yoon Seok-yeol," arguing, "That is the only way to minimize national confusion and public suffering."
