Geumcheon-gu Tennis Association Donates 9.05 Million Won for Warm Winter Support

For 10 Years Since 2015, Tennis Enthusiasts Unite to Donate Funds

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced on December 13 that the Geumcheon-gu Tennis Association (President Woo Seong-man) donated 9.05 million KRW to the Hope Ondol Warm Winter Fund at the Geumcheon-gu Office small conference room.

Since 2015, the Geumcheon-gu Tennis Association has been consistently practicing sharing by voluntarily gathering tennis enthusiasts to donate year-end funds to the district for 10 years.

Woo Seong-man, President of the Geumcheon-gu Tennis Association, said, “I am glad to be able to deliver a little warmth to neighbors in need,” and added, “We will continue to support the activation of community sports and the development of the local community.”

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, expressed his gratitude, saying, “I thank the Geumcheon-gu Tennis Association for empathizing with the difficulties of neighbors and practicing sharing every year,” and stated, “We will ensure that the members’ precious donations are well delivered to those in need through the Hope Ondol Warm Winter project.”

The Geumcheon-gu Tennis Association was established in March 1995 and currently has about 800 members actively participating in 33 clubs. They hold annual tennis tournaments such as the Mayor’s Cup and the Association President’s Cup. Especially this year, they raised the status of Geumcheon-gu community sports by achieving first place in the women’s division at the Seoul Mayor’s Cup Tennis Tournament.
